Hi there, I'm Lou. In 2004 something life changing happened to me. I was on my honeymoon in Thailand when my husband Greg and we got caught up in the Boxing Day tsunami. We were both incredibly lucky to survive. But that experience taught us to live life to the full... And so we do.
We own and run Hedley House Hotel together, have three amazing children, travel a huge amount, take on challenges like running the marathon and cycling from London to Paris for the British Red Cross, and we regularly entertain family and friends.
But sometimes I need to step out of our full and frenetic life to find headspace, peace and mental clarity.
Four years ago I was introduced to power yoga by a close friend. I fell in love with it. I began going regularly as a way to strengthen my body and calm my mind. As a 40th birthday treat, I was taken to a hot yoga studio in Manchester. It took yoga to a whole new level. I loved it!
As the last of our three children started school, I wanted a new challenge. I realised no-one was offering hot yoga in York and I simply had to do it. As a qualified PE teacher, I knew I could already teach effectively, I just needed the yoga knowledge and training. I spent six months training with Yogahaven and the wonderful Ali Hill, Toni Roberts and Rachel Blunt, specialising in hot yoga, putting in hours of self-practice. I am now fully qualified and look forward to continuing my yoga training in new areas. I have designed a state of the art, custom-made hot yoga studio in the basement of our hotel - Hedley House Hotel in central York.
It is my escape capsule.... It can be yours too.
Yogabomb is different, it's yoga for normal, busy people who want to get fit, toned, balanced and stretched while taking time out to create headspace and mental calm. You will sweat. It's a proper workout. But you will love it. Trust me.
Please don't be put off if you have never done Yoga before or aren't sure if it's right for you. Just come along and try. It's relaxed, friendly and a good laugh.
I can't wait to teach you. If you have any questions, just drop me an email or sign up to my newsletter to keep updated with all things Yogabomb!
